Art of Ink Marbling
Come join us for a workshop to learn the organic art of Marbling.
Marbling is the art of floating inks on a viscous base; each print can only be pulled once, hence each print is a unique painting, an artwork.
We’ll work with traditional marbling techniques (raking, free form etc) as well as Japanese Suminagashi on fabric and paper.
Keeping our focus on upcycling, this technique can also help give your old clothes a new lease of life by transforming them with your own marbled prints. Stained baby clothes, tops or fabrics can be revamped and renewed! (Fine grained fabrics and silks have the best results.)
* As the marbled garments need to be mordanted beforehand and dry in order for the prints to fix, each registered participant can pass us 12 items of clothing they’d like transformed, prior to the workshop.
* Each class is strictly limited to 10 pax.
400 HKD (All materials included, with 1 hand-rolled hem 100% silk handkerchief and unlimited art prints per participant)
